I NEVER IMAGINED THAT I WOULD BECOME A WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER.
You see...I was a total science nerd growing up. The kind of science nerd who has been carrying a periodic table of elements wallet card since...oh...1994. So naturally, I ventured down that path and found myself working in cancer research. It was exciting. Challenging. Tiring. It was right where I wanted to be...and then suddenly, I stumbled upon photography. It was purely accidental, but in the process of taking those first few photos (with my new camera no less), I discovered some things about myself.
My desire to be creative.
My desire to challenge myself in new ways.
My need to document life from the mundane to the significant.
In whirlwind fashion, I dove into photography, started my business in 2006 and never looked back. I was scared and wondered where this new journey would take me, but the one thing that I knew for sure was that I was determined to create work that I could be proud of.
Years later, I am still on this journey. More seasoned and more confident, but still learning and always growing. Inspired by so much more than I was before, especially in the form of two little people, my son and my daughter, who have my heart and give me reason to continue being passionate about my life and my work.
It is an absolute privilege to do what I do and my hope is that my work resonates with you and your heart.
Last month, we hosted a little reunion for our prenatal class at our house and decided at some point to try to get a photo of all our babies together… HA!! Yeah. It is NOT easy taking a photo of several babies in one shot. Aren’t they cute though?
